Wesley United Methodist Church donated $2,500 to support the “For the City” campaign. The funds will be used to purchase supplies for repairs and improvements to selected properties in Greenville.
This summer “For the City” is organizing a four-day mission project in Greenville. The project will include visiting the sick and elderly, performing various light construction work such as roofing and siding, yard work and painting for citizens who need a helping hand.
“For the City” workers will also clean up public spaces in Greenville and conduct a community food drive for local faith-based soup kitchens and food pantries.
Members of Wesley UMC are active participants in the project this year, including the early campaign work of planning and organization and soliciting volunteers.
During the event, June 5-8, 2019, they will work alongside volunteers from churches across the city in meal preparation, visitations, yard work, construction and repairs and cleanup efforts. Wesley UMC’s mission includes partnering with other organizations both at home and abroad.
Following the suggestion of “For the City” leaders, Wesley continues to transform the community and the people living in it.
